The Museum
The Man From Snowy River Museum is an eclectic collection of materials, all of which have some assumed association with the community of Corryong. Over the years members of the community have contributed to the collection. There has been an emphasis on the pioneer/rural technology so the collection includes horsedrawn vehicles, farm implements and a working blacksmith's shop. The volunteers have also managed to obtain the old police lock up, a diminutive bank used in the Snowy Scheme, a single room classroom circa 1920 and an old slab cottage.
In and amongst is a collection of early skiing equipment donated by the Mitchell family who were pioneers of skiing in Australia. As items of interest have been made available they have been included in the collection.
